Capsule: The Nebula Rocker, another of the few and peculiar ships that traverse the Nebula Infinitus.

Formerly the "Monacle II", the ship was one of a private collection of three Lantillian pleasure yachts owned by Fenson Clasun the Third, a wealthy bureaucrat from the resort world of Koyaba. Painted ivory and furnished extensively, the shuttle served as the man's personal shuttle for years, and he eventually gave the ship over to his son, Spensar, upon the exceptance of his (forced) application to the Imperial Academy.

Spensar had other plans for the prim little ship, though. A often professed beatnic and rebel-without-a-cause, he quickly formed up a makeshift crew, mostly aimless teenagers like himself, and set off for points unknown.

Since then, Spense has landed and stranded on hundreds of spaceports, falling in with the galactic riffraff as the typical space transient. Along the way, the Rocker has undergone serious and varied transformations, constantly being reconfigured by the youth as a sometimes-Currier, sometimes-Lander, sometimes-Freighter, sometimes-Miner, and fulltime-Eyecatcher. (Clasun calls his purple/orange paint job "artwork in motion"; others call it "eyepiercing"). Through the alterations, the shipboard controls has become more and more centralized, where now the outrageous pilot can operate the ship alonwe with little trouble.

Currently, the Rocker has been employed by Mobius Exchange mining company as a commuter shuttle and patrol ship, which suits Spensar just fine... as long as they don't tell him to turn down his music.

Because of the sensor-blinding elements within the huge nebula that covers most of the Mobius system, the ship has been equiped with a special sensor dish that is very similiar to an ancient Sonar system. This system, which is commonly found on most of the local ships, is the only effective way to navigate within the vast stellar cloud. Through the use of controlled sound pulses, objects can be "spotted" by a skillful and experienced listener.

Becuase of the rise of piratry in the area, a second laser cannon has been added to increase the Rocker's chances in a firefight with the crafty and well armed Screaming Zephyr band (see the Sunflare for more information). Ship idea and stats submitted by mikek@cardina.net
