04/18/1999- I fell I've somehow managed to totally mis communicate my intentions with this site. Though some of you seem to get it just fine, others do not. Let me take a brief moment to clarify. First, everything I do here is kinda public domain. Naturally, it all falls under the blanket of Lucas's copyrights, but I'm posting this stuff for the love of the game and the enjoyment of the players. I do NOT charge for drawings. I couldn't. It would be profiting from someone else's intellectual property. So first off, I do not do drawings for sale. Secondly, I had been taking requests, but as my time runs short, and I want to get certain things on the site done, it is becoming more difficult to cater to individual users. With that in mind, please, please use this site for the purpose it is intended: It is hopefully fun to look at, and if you like something you see, TAKE IT!!!!!! I don't care. Use it in your game, in your campaign, whatever you want. Use the stats I post, or don't. I don't mind. If you see a ship drawing you like, and want to use it for your PC's use it, or if you want to use it for a villain, or NPC, use it. That is what it is there for. It is all source material for you to make use of however you see fit.
If you want to use Smilin' Drex in your campaign, go ahead. Print out the stats, the artwork, and use it as handouts or materials for your players. Have your players visit him to buy a ship or modifications for their ship if you like. And whatever I don't have posted- extra staff, prices for goods and services, make up yourself. I will of course be trying to fill in the gaps, but in the interim, make up whatever you need to. Please, you don't need to email me with requests of 'can I use Smilin' Drex in my campaign?' Go ahead.
One last note. I've said this before, I'll say it again. I don't do stats. Don't email me and ask me for a ship that has 'quad ion turrets, is faster than a TIE fighter and has enough hull and shields to go up agains an ISD.' I don't want to hear it. Make up your own stats. Otherwise, have fun, enjoy the site, look around, email any comments you like, and use whatever you want however you want. Only one request... If you are going to post any of my art on your site, please include credit and a link.

I'd like to make a quick note here. The Panther that is posted, as well as the Moon Swing, and the Kandra's Fang are all ships that I drew based solely on requests from visitors to the site. If you would like me to draw a ship, send me the kind of ship in an email with a description, colors, weapons, etc., that you'd like to see and I will do it. What I'd like to make a note of is this though... Drex only does light freighters. That may sound silly, and I'm not surprised if it does, but think of it this way; I've built all the basic shapes I need to build a cut and paste freighter. And if you look close you will see that I have about 5 different turrets, and 4 cockpit housings and 5 or more engine quadrants and so on and so on. I've got a library of simple basic shapes that work well for the light freighter class. I have NO shapes for capital scale ships on top of which, most freighters are drawn top view and if you look in the books, the majority of capital ships are represented in side views, so I cannot easily use shapes from one ship type to make another. Additionally, this site is not in existence to build ships that 'would make the Emperor tremble in fear.' These ships are a reference for GM's who want to add a little flavor to their campaign, for interesting villain ships and for interesting PC or NPC ships. This is not DREX FURLOW'S MIGHTY ARSENAL OF DEATH DEALING LIGHT FREIGHTERS. As such I will not entertain requests for ships with speeds of 15 and 7D hull and 8D shields and super triple proton torpedo launchers and quintuple heavy laser cannon batteries. If you want to play power SWRPG, go ahead and have fun, hey, use the ship outlines if you like, but don't ask me to post super stats for flotilla ships. That is all.

I've been getting alot of requests for side views and interiors on ships. I'm still taking this under consideration. I've spent some time studying Frank V. Bonura's ship drawings over at Fantastic Realms. He's got some good looking interiors but I don't know if I have the patience for the kind of stunning detail Franks is coming up with. We'll see what the future brings...

Well, I've finally got the site a little better whupped into shape. Hope you enjoy it. If there is anyone who speaks English out there- real English, for the common folk, who can tell me about setting up a counter and a Guest List, please email me. As always, comments and criticism are welcome though I reserve the right to disregard anything you say which I don't like.

Hi, Just thought I'd let you in on a few thoughts I had about this page. First off, if you are interested, I'm building the starships with Corel Draw, and I'm saving them up on the page as JPG files. Feel free to right click on a large image and save it for yourself.
My intent here is to provide a growing library of ships and designs, based on my whim, at my liesure. I am considering making stats available for these ships, as well as histories for each ship, or accepting suggested info on a first come first serve basis, with credit to the author. Again, this is at my whim.
I will of course entertain any suggestions. Feel free to drop me a line swerley@prolog.net. Please understand though, that this site will only become what I have the inclination to make of it, and I have nothing else I'm willing to sacrafice to make this some stellar top 100 Star Wars Fan Website or anything like that.
In conclusion, let me first remind you to enjoy yourself while you are here, feel free to let me know what you think. Apologies of course to George Lucas for using the fruits of his creations. Please forgive my site as little more than fan enthusiasm. Sorry also to WEG if I have stepped on your toes in any way by knocking off images you have published.
