Ray's Review:  The DL-44a is the prestige model of the BlasTech DL-44.  It is finished in a shiny chrome-vanadium alloy, making it tremendously durable and resistant to surface pitting, while maintaining all of the other features which make the DL-44 popular.     The Rebellion had taken to giving the DL-44a to officers who distinguished themselves with exceptional valour.  Additionally, this model had been made available to any High Command officer who wished one.  Few if any carry the weapon, as it is considered a beacon of the officer's importance, thus increasing their value as a target.  Too many Rebel officers were identified and eliminated simply because they were seen carrying this pistol.
