Capsule:
The real Drex Furlow is a Frozian. Drex became disillusioned with his race's dim world view and decided that he desperately wanted to see as much of the galaxy as possible. He left Froz with a friend of his, a Frozian by the name of The Astounding Biz.Astounding was a gambler by trade, and a good one. As Drex and Astounding traveled the galaxy they made their money at the sabaac table, and as they traveled, Drex slowly learned the game himself. Eventually, the two made their way into a regional sabaac tournament. Although Drex was quickly eliminated during the semi-finals which were held at the Wheel Space Station, Astounding Biz managed to get into the final round.
The flambouyant Astounding Biz manaqged to win the tournament, but was assassinated shortly afterward by the bodyguard of Jenna Targe (an executive of the Karflo corporation who lost to The Astounding Biz). Drex barely managed to escape the tournament with his life (and the money).
Drex knew that he didn't enjoy the gambling life enough to stay in it, and with his friend gone, so was the fun. Drex took the money and invested it in light freighters. He bought just a few, fixed them up as best he could, and resold them for a modest profit. Drex continued to buy and sell light freighters, always dealing fairly with his customers, always giving quality products and services for the price he charged, and soon his business grew from a hobby to a full time business.
Knowing the discrimination he would receive at the hands of the Empire simply for being an alien with his own business, Drex called on an associate named Odok Blas to play the front man at Drex Furlow's Stockyard. Odok had just the right touch of greasy used starship salesman in him to pull off the part to Drex's satisfaction. Odok was more than happy to help out an old friend, and went from impersonating Drex Furlow during the first few deals to playing the part of the smarmy salesman full time.
Now Odok makes his sales with the real Drex Furlow taking notes as Odok's assistant. After the sales pitch is made, Drex passes his datapad to Odok who then negotiates the final offer based on Drex's notes.
